The Re-uz teams are fully committed to promoting a circular economy through the recyclability of our reusable containers. Our mission is to reduce the ecological footprint of events by offering sustainable solutions that combine practicality, economy and respect for the environment. Discover how our products are designed to be recyclable, contributing to a greener future.
Recyclability
What is recyclability?
Recyclability highlights a product’s ability to be reintroduced into the production cycle after use, in the form of reusable raw materials.
It’s important to distinguish between reusability and recyclability. While reusability refers to a product’s ability to be used several times before becoming waste, recyclability comes into play when the product has reached the end of its life cycle.
Our goal is to combine these two aspects to create our reusable containers which can not only be used over and over again, but also recycled when they are no longer usable, thus minimizing their ecological footprint.
Materials used for recyclable containers
We ensure the recyclability of our reusable containers by opting for 100% single-material manufacturing. This means that each product is made from a single type of material, with no mixing of different components.
The vast majority of our reusable containers are made from Bisphenol A-free polypropylene (PP), a plastic material renowned for its durability and 100% recyclability. PP is strong, lightweight and easy to recycle, making it the ideal choice for our products.
After several cycles of use, this material can be melted down and reused to make new containers, thus reducing the demand for virgin raw materials.
The recycling process
For the recycling and recovery of our defective or broken food containers, we have a process for internal recycling and one for external recycling.
For internal recycling, unce sorted, our containers are sent to Nutripack (a Group subsidiary) for extrusion and re-granulation. Using polypropylene granules, Nutripack manufactures crates for transporting Ecocup cups without direct food contact.
For external recycling, broken food containers are sent to specialized recycling centers. where they are cleaned, ground and transformed into polypropylene granules. These granules are then reused in the manufacture of new objects, such as flower pots or chairs, thus closing the loop of the recycling process. product life cycle.
Environmental benefits and the Re-uz commitment
Re-uz is committed to using 100% mono-materials to ensure the recyclability of its products. By recycling our reusable cups or our tableware, we help to reduce the volume of plastic waste ending up in landfill sites.
Aware of the need to transform and give a second life to this material, we surround ourselves with trusted service providers for the recycling of our products. Thanks to them, we can be sure that our products will be transformed into transport crates, chairs and flower boxes.
The recycling process generally requires less energy than the production of materials from virgin resources. This translates into a reduced carbon footprint for Re-uz products.
